Designed by Daniel Burnham and built in 1902 by the George A. Fuller Construction Company, the 21-story building at 175 Fifth Avenue is among the most recognizable buildings in New York City. 
 
Undergoing its first total renovation, the 220,000 sq. ft. Flatiron Building will be getting upgrades that include a modern elevator system, new boilers, emergency generator, and electrical service. Other upgrades include a new HVAC system, fire alarm and sprinkler system, scissor stairs from roof to subcellar (24 floors total) and a newly fitted-out penthouse with large windows and a private wraparound terrace.
